This film was Miles Murphy's one and only venture into the NZ 48 hour Film Festival. AUTOCRANIOTOMOUS was propelled into the final round of judging courtesy ​of being Sir Peter Jackson's Wild Card choice. The film finished third overall in a field of over 700 entries.
